Inbox triage

An inbox that knows whose turn it is

The question is not whether a conversation is finished — in prospecting almost none are. It is whether anything is waiting on you right now. Everything else steps aside and comes back by itself.

  1. 1 A Smart view holding only the threads where the next move is yours — an unanswered question, a document you promised.
  2. 2 They said they would come back Monday? The thread steps aside and returns after Monday, not on it.
  3. 3 Before you send, your draft is read against the thread and one thing is named if it is wrong.

How a thread earns its place

"Waiting on me", not "finished"

Asked whether an exchange was over, a model keeps almost every prospecting thread open — something in it is always unresolved. Asked whether anything is waiting on you, it answers the question you actually have at nine in the morning.

It picks its own wake-up date

A thread that steps aside names when it should come back, out of a closed set of horizons — and each one lands a little past its word, so someone who promised Monday is not resurfaced before they have had the day.

Your own reply settles it

Answering is what takes a thread off the pile, and that is recorded as a fact rather than asked of a model. Writing back also revives a settled one — the reading is redone whenever either side speaks.

An unread thread is never a verdict

The view holds only conversations that have actually been read. A thread nobody has looked at yet is absent from it rather than assumed to be handled.
